Of course, this movie was a ton of hype, and what a movie can live up to all this .... Yada yada. Not even that, this film is a bit of a disappointment. This movie shows that it was not just special FX, which made Star Wars fun to watch. It was as if George Lucas was so excited about what he could do with CGI effects, he forgot what made the original trilogy so great, which is written and the characters. It's not a bad film, but the problems are many.-A lot of people I'm sorry, this movie is not relevant, because they say it is only the first trilogy and the second is to simply set all to follow. Wrong wrong wrong, this movie was going to be my first movie the other three movies were. He was supposed to be good characters and some interesting story .... it didnt.-conflict story revolves around a trade dispute and the fate of the planet Naboo. It was really worried about? Details of the dispute is a bit vague, and what is not real to generate enough interest for us to root for particular side. Darth Sideous major conflict and its growth will remain far away from the background. We dont even know why Darth Maul hates Jedi as well .... He just does. Maybe Lucas wanted to have something Darth Maul, Boba (quiet and mysterious). He worked with Boba because he was only a supporting character, not the main villain. This movie does not really have a clear villain. I wish someone had had the courage and simply told Lucas that his story was based lousy.-o looks especially happy in this film. Qui-Gon is really the only character that can join, and he is very far away. Queen mannequin is a large part of his scenes (and to show one). Obi-Wan Kenobi wander through the whole movie nothing, and never say anything interesting. The characters never seem to talk about anything except the plot (as opposed to the first film). C3PO and R2-D2 was pretty pointless. Jedi comes across as a very cold and buracratic. I will never understand why they wrote Annakin as a primary school child in this film. He should be a teenager. His scenes of the queen was difficult. They're not even going to discuss the Jar Jar.Various other things ... midochlorians thing seems to be just stuck. Humor falls flat, unless you have a very small child. Annakin destroy the trade at the end of the ship and safves all essentially by accident! ILM and George Lucas seems to be so happy in their new CGI toys that they spent 95% of their time perfecting them. Frankly, I thought the FX Return of the Jedi was sharp, more dimensional and less cartoonish. Nothing seems to happen all the memorable here. The film may never be as good as the hype, but it could easily be much better than this. I waited so long for this film, but the first time I've seen this movie really boring in the middle of it.There are some good moments. Pod race was fun, like a light saber battle at the end. There are some very nice special effects throughout. I hope Lucas has just writers block, when he wrote this. Maybe he will remember what they did to other movies such a good time Episode II. Although he seems to be broken header.
