Cidade de Deus seems to have a lot of compliments on IMDb boards, and with good reason too. It is simply, in my opinion, one of the best contemporary films ever made.Based on real events and characters who live in poverty and slums overlooked injured in the shadow of Rio de Janeiro, where life expectancy is at least 30 - those kings and drug dealers. The history of the city of God, and a number of characters said missile, a young man who struggles to make something of life ,, except to complete another victim of drug or gang wars.Not only characters in the city of God is absolutely fascinating, and it is also very happy, but also convincingly acted by groups of young actors and unknown. In stoies are well spoken, and at times, funny, and at others, brutally shocking.The cinefilm style gives nod to Tarantino, over time some smart-cast, freeze-framing and text indicates another chapter of the film. In every sense, a little Brazilian Pulp Fiction or Goodfellas, but with its own unique flavor to it.The city of God is a miracle, and is recommended to watch the movie, but not recommended for sensitive and easily distressed.
